Marietta, Ga. (February 18, 2013) —Who said what happens in Vegas HAS to stay in Vegas? Board an imaginary plane and travel to the city of shows March 7th through 10th as The Strand brings Vegas BACK to Marietta in its musical revue, The Vegas Show 2013 to benefit the Humane Society of Cobb County and The Earl Smith Strand Theatre.
The Vegas Show 2013 maintains the high energy excitement of 2012’s production with showgirls, singers, and dancers. This year’s production, in line with the current Las Vegas trends, is kid-friendly (even including a teenage heartthrob boy band) and features musical tributes to Vegas classics such as The Temptations and Elvis as well as current popular musical acts like Madonna and Justin Beiber. New to the show this year are homage to Wayne Newton and Celine Dion.
“Due to the tremendous success of last year’s Vegas show, our executive producer—Steve Imler—approached us about doing a new version of the show” says Strand Theatre executive director Earl Reece. “This will be bigger and better than last year! There will be lots of surprises!”
Last year’s production of The Vegas Show was a huge success with every show being a packed house. The in-house production, directed by Earl Reece, was thrilling captivating with its fast paced song and dance numbers and flashy and over-the-top style, in true Vegas fashion. Many audience members said it was one of the best shows they had seen at The Strand, and immediately after the final performance it was decided that the show would return in 2013.
Vegas 2013 will take place Thursday, March 7th, Friday, March 8th, Saturday, March 9th at 8 PM and Sunday, March 10th at 3 PM and 7 PM. Tickets are $28 and assigned seating. Book your “boarding pass” and Viva Las Vegas…in Marietta Square!
