This winter, The Strand brings back holiday favorites like A Christmas Tradition, Christmas Royal Tea and Grand Yuletide Ball, It’s A Wonderful Life movie marathon, as well as the return of Strand Ole Opry’s Country Christmas. All shows run in December and are on sale now.
A Christmas Tradition | December 9 – 22, 2022
A Christmas Tradition returns to The Strand stage for another unforgettable year of sharing the holiday spirit through sparkling song and dance. This hometown favorite holiday revue features costumed singers and dancers performing both traditional and funky Christmas favorites. A Christmas Tradition’s non-stop, high energy spectacle is the perfect way to put the whole family in the Christmas spirit this season. Tickets are $25 – $35.

Christmas Royal Tea and Grand Yuletide Ball is a royal holiday experience for kids filled with sweets, tea and juice, a visit from the Prince and Princess of the Grand Yuletide Ball, a Nutcracker dance, and a Christmas story. Tickets include a gift bag of goodies for our young guests. Limited space available. Tickets are $30.

Enjoy this modern holiday classic on the big screen! Papa Elf (Bob Newhart) tells the story of his adopted human son Buddy (Will Ferrell) as he learns of his human heritage and goes to New York City to search out his birth father… who just happens to be on Santa’s (Edward Asner) naughty list. Arrive thirty minutes before showtime for a free live pre-show concert on the Mighty Allen Theatre Organ. Tickets are $10.
It’s a Wonderful Life Movie Marathon | Tuesday, December 20, 2022
The Strand continues its tradition of playing It’s a Wonderful Life on the big screen all day on the Tuesday before Christmas. Take a break from last minute holiday shopping and remember the importance of family and compassion with this heartwarming holiday tradition. Fuzzy pajamas are encouraged and popcorn and drinks will be served. In this holiday classic, an angel (Henry Travers) helps a compassionate but despairingly frustrated businessman (James Stewart) by showing what life would have been like if he never existed. Arrive 15 minutes before showtime for a holiday preshow and sing-along on the Mighty Allen Theatre Organ. Tickets are $12.

Strand Ole Opry’s Country Christmas | Friday, December 23, 2022 @ 8:00pm
This down-home bluegrass concert features holiday music performed on the banjo, fiddle, guitar, bass, and washboard! A band of merry singers and traditional southern storytellers invite patrons onto The Strand’s metaphorical ‘back porch’ to bring a little twang to the tinsel season. Tickets are $20.
Sleepless in Seattle | Friday, December 30, 2022 @ 8pm
This 1993 film combines 90’s greats Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks to create the perfect winter romcom. Spanning the time between Christmas Eve and Valentine’s Day, Sleepless in Seattle’s charming love story inspired by An Affair to Remember hits all the holiday high notes. Tickets are $10.
The NYE Show: The Music of Queen and Bowie | Saturday, December 31 @ 9pm
The Georgia Players Guild returns to The Strand stage to ring in the new year with the music of Queen and David Bowie. Lobby doors open at 8pm, doors at 8:30pm, and the show starts at 9pm.
VIP tickets are available and include early access seating, a private mini-show before the concert, two drink tickets, and a signed poster from the band. Tickets are $45, VIP tickets are $80.
