In 2025, two of Marietta’s premier arts organizations—the Georgia Symphony Orchestra and the Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre—are continuing their commitment to sensory-friendly programming, offering a welcoming environment for families and individuals with sensory sensitivities.

The Strand is excited to announce a new partnership with Woodstock-based Reformation Brewery, marking the 2025 return of its rooftop bar experience, Brew with a View. This collaboration makes Reformation Brewery the official sponsor of The Strand’s Brew with a View rooftop bar and live music venue, bringing locally crafted brews and craft spirits to the only publicly accessible rooftop deck on the historic Marietta Square.

In honor of National Historic Preservation Month, Fox Gives, the Community Partnerships arm of Atlanta’s Fox Theatre, celebrated an award of a $31,500 grant for the Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre (“The Strand”) through a Big Check Presentation Ceremony on May 17, 2024. The gift catalyzed The Strand’s installation of a state-of-the-art sound system which was completed in March 2024.

The Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre has recently adopted a new five-year strategic plan for 2023-2027. The plan focuses on audience expansion and retention, leadership and operational excellence, and financial sustainability.

The Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre is proud to announce that the City of Marietta has proclaimed Sunday, February 12 as Ron Carter Day in honor of the local legend, Ron Carter.

This winter, The Strand brings back holiday favorites like A Christmas Tradition, Christmas Royal Tea and Grand Yuletide Ball, It’s A Wonderful Life movie marathon, as well as the return of Strand Ole Opry’s Country Christmas.
