Carle Atwater began his acting career in 1975. He is delighted that this part (Carle) was specifically written for him. This spring, he played Hoke in “Driving Miss Daisy” and just closed “Ain’t Misbehavin”. He sang backup for Aretha Franklin, has sung the National Anthem at Madison Square Garden, and was awarded the L. A. Critics award for Best Performance in a Musical as Bert Williams in “Williams and Walker”. Carle is a proud graduate of Howard University. He gives all thanks to God for his many blessings. Jarius Cliett is a native of Atlanta and is making his Strand debut. He received his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from The University of Alabama and his Master of Music in Voice Performance from Georgia State University. Some of his most recent performances include: “Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical” with the Atlanta Lyric Theatre, “Once On This Island” as Ton Ton Julian with Theatre Covington, the first national tour of “NOËL the Musical” as Mac, Freddy in Glow Lyric Theatre’s “My Fair Lady”, and as Dick Wilkins (understudy) in Alliance Theatre’s “A Christmas Carol”. Jarius is the Co-Founder of JMC Productions and the Co-Host of Black Table Read podcast show. He is also a brother of the Omicron Phi chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity. Naomi Green is thrilled to be joining the cast of Jukebox Giants. Naomi currently goes to Reinhardt University majoring in Musical Theater. Recent credits include, “ 9 to 5” and “Bring It On”. Jarrod Harrell is currently a student at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) and heading into his second year as a Contemporary Dance major. He trained at Georgia Dance Conservatory, and was part of Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theatre Company (GMDT) for eight years. He has performed in their “Nutcracker”, “Jump, Jive, and Boogie” and more. He’s also choreographed for GMDT, Marietta High School, and various director’s auditions.
Le’Kee Horton is a young performer who is super excited to be a part of this production at The Strand. After years of training, he is thrilled to take his first step into the professional world of performance. When he’s not on stage he can be found writing scripts, so he never strays far from the theatre!
Rayvon Love performed at Cobb Idol 2021 and is thrilled to be back for his Strand debut production! A senior at the University of Georgia, he has performed with UGA Opera Theatre & more.
Taryn Kae’lyn McFarthing is very honored to be a part of this show as a performer and as co-choreographer. Before the pandemic, she spent a year on a Carnival Cruise ship as a rockband singer. She has spent 5 seasons performing for Six Flags Over Georgia, including one as the choreographer for “Demonatrix Unleashed” in 2018. She has also performed in theatre productions such as “Four Old Broads” (Marietta Theatre in the Square), “It Should have been you” (Out of Box Theatre), and “Cabaret” (Serenbe Playhouse). After this show, her next project is choreographing a piece for a Breast Cancer Awareness event in October. Javier Mina is a senior at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School, and is thrilled to be making his Strand debut in Jukebox Giants: Motown & More. Some of his favorite roles have been Claude Frollo in “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” and Trevor Graydon in “Thoroughly Modern Millie”. Most recently, Javier performed in Six Flags Over Georgia’s Holiday in the Park as one of the Main Street Carolers. Offstage, he loves to read and write for his blog. Javier feels so blessed and honored to be performing with this talented cast, and he thanks his family and friends for all of their support and love!
An alumnus of the prestigious American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Jacob is humbled and excited to make his debut at The Strand. He was last seen as Cosmo Brown in the Springer Opera House’s outdoor production of “Singin’ in The Rain”. Credits include “Newsies” (Mike), “Route 66!”, “A Chorus Line” (Richie), “Dreamgirls” (Wayne/Little Albert) , “Sister Act” (TJ). and “The Little Mermaid”; with award-winning productions and performances of “Pippin” (Leading Player), “Smokey Joes Café” (Victor/Self), “Chicago” (Judge), and “Hair” (Hud); and regional premieres of “RENT” (Angel) and “City Kid” (Mikey). It’s his sincerest wish that you enjoy a little Motown magic with this production, and thank you from the bottom of his heart for all the support from his friends, family and this incredibly talented cast and crew!
Angela Rodriguez is thrilled to be back again for another exciting show here at The Strand Theatre. Some of Angela’s stage credits include “Rhythm and Grooves” (Six Flags Over Georgia), “Priscilla: Queen of the Desert” (Out Front Theatre), “Disenchanted” (Marietta Theatre Company), “August: Osage County” (Theatre in the Square), and “Godspell” (Pumphouse Players). Angela would especially like to thank and send love to the entire production crew and cast for being such a wonderful team to work with.
Kaylan Royston is thrilled to be back on stage at The Strand Theatre! She has previously worked with The Strand in “Jukebox Giants: Motown & More” and “A Christmas Tradition”. Aside from her performances with The Strand, she has worked with the Theatre Project in shows such as “Mamma Mia” (Donna) & “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” (Esmeralda). Kaylan trained at the British Academy of Performing Arts and is currently a sophomore at Boston Conservatory at Berklee where she majors in Musical Theater. She would like to attribute her accomplishments to the support of her mentors, friends, and family.
David Wells is a recent alumni of Kennesaw State University and received a B.A. in Theatre and Performance Studies. As an artist, he has had the opportunity to work with/study under amazing artists, industry professionals, and veterans such as Kristyl Dawn Tift, Amanda Wansa Morgan, Justin Anderson, Amelia Fischer, and more. Some of his professional credits include: “Fairy Hoax as Francis”, “Altar Boyz” as Luke, “Sunday Morning 2 Men Cooking” as Young Buck. In honor and loving memory of his best friend and number one supporter, Virginia H. Wells, David is determined to achieve is goals and dreams. He hopes you enjoy the show! Live with vigor.
Shane is thrilled to return to The Strand to direct Jukebox Giants: Motown & More for the third year! Shane has also directed previous Strand productions The Radio Palace Movie Hour, A Christmas Tradition, and Let Freedom Ring (2009). Shane is currently the Entertainment Manager at Six Flags Over Georgia, where he produces several shows per year and has been recognized internationally for his award-winning productions. He is a ten-time Best Overall Production nominee by the International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions (IAAPA) and a twotime recipient of the coveted award for his productions at Six Flags Over Georgia. In addition, Shane has previously served as an Adjudicator and Advisory Committee Member for the Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards program at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and is a member of Cobb Arts VIBE.
Zac is an award-winning actor, director, and choreographer and served as Artistic Director for Marietta Theatre Company for three years. Favorite credits include “Earl” in Jukebox Giants; Little Shop of Horrors, Footloose, and A Christmas Tradition (Strand Theatre); Bullets Over Broadway (Georgia Ensemble Theatre); Les Misérables (Alliance Theatre); Silence! The Musical (Onstage Atlanta). A self-proclaimed whiskey, coffee, and menswear connoisseur, a proud Dogfather, and a Netflix junkie. Zac most recently directed Whose Wives Are They Anyway here at the Strand. He prides himself on, all around, being better than Shane, in every aspect.
Iman taught Lighting Production and beginning theater design at the University of Kansas for her Graduate Degree in Scenography—the mastery of theatrical lighting, costume, and set design. Johnny is a “jack of all trades” who lends his talents in maintenance, painting, construction, and many more to The Strand. He is excited to be working on another great show at The Strand!
Judy lives in Smyrna and is the mother of two children, Christopher and Lindsey (an angel in heaven). She retired from the Cobb County School District after thirty three years of service. Dr. Cannon is currently a full time professor of Reading and College Success at Chattahoochee Technical College on the Marietta campus. She serves as a volunteer for the Miss Cobb County Scholarship Pageant. Dr. Cannon was named the 2014 Instructor of the Year for Chattahoochee Technical College. She loves being involved with production at The Strand.
