Behind the Curtain: Movie Palace Radio Hour

This May 3-5, the stories of the Lone Ranger and The Shadow come to life on The Strand stage for one weekend only in Movie Palace Radio Hour: The Adventures of the Lone Ranger and The Shadow.

Here’s glimpse at some of the creative minds that are bringing this one of a kind show to life on stage.

THE CREATIVE TEAM

Shane DeLancey, Director

After directing previous Strand productions Jukebox Giants (2018), A Christmas Tradition (2017, 2018) and Let Freedom Ring (2009), Shane is thrilled to return to The Strand to direct Movie Palace Radio Hour!

Shane is currently the Entertainment Manager at Six Flags Over Georgia, where he produces several shows per year and has been recognized internationally for his award-winning productions.

Timothy Verville, Conductor

As Conductor of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra, Timothy Verville has energized audiences while expanding concert offerings. Inspiring and innovative performances are a trademark of Timothy Verville’s work as a music director and conductor.

Driven by a desire to share great music with audiences and develop genuine outreach in communities, his creative and thoughtful style of musical programming has received acclaim across the country.

THE CAST

Matt Goodson, The Shadow

Matt Goodson is an Atlanta based voice over artist, musician, and stage performer who, in his free time, manages a research laboratory at Emory University. He’s spent the last five years performing live and studio-recorded audio dramas with The Atlanta Radio Theatre Company, lending his voice to commercials on internet and radio through The People Store, and has more recently joined The Neighborhood Studio and Carter Creative’s esteemed stable of actors.

All of his time as a performer, invariably, has brought him to that same question that has plagued people for nearly nine decades: “Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?”

Barry Lancaster

Barry was born in the little town of Swifton, Arkansas, population 867 (counting dogs and chickens). Barry has performed extensively throughout the Southeastern United States as a solo entertainer, performing stand-up comedy as well as tenor singer for the southern gospel quartet The Peachland Quartet.

Alexander McCurley

Alex is a Marietta native and a graduate of Marietta High School. He earned a film degree from the University of Georgia and has worked in film, television, video, and theatre in both performance and production. Alex currently sings and plays mandolin in The Black Coffee Boys band and emcees, sings, and writes for the Strand Ole Opry concert series. Alex co-hosted Taste of Marietta 2019 with Barry Lancaster.

Caitlin Roe

Movie Palace Radio Hour marks Caitlin's Strand debut. She has enjoyed performing with Academy Theatre, Center for Puppetry Arts, Renegade Theatre and Théâtre du Rêve. She first performed radio drama with the Atlanta Radio Theater Company. In addition to performing, she also runs French theater camps for Théâtre du Rêve.

Quinn Bozza

Quinn Bozza was born in Coral Springs, Florida to Jody and Joseph Bozza. He is of Italian, Irish, Polish, and Syrian descent. Quinn’s first theatrical production in the state of Georgia was in April of 2018 where he performed in the original comedy “Stitches” at the Historic Canton Theatre. He mainly works in film and television, represented by Privilege Talent Agency. Quinn’s most recent credits are The Walking Dead on AMC, and The Outsider which will appear on HBO in 2020
