We are not just a landmark steeped in history, but a nonprofit in our 15th year of producing performances for communities in Marietta and Cobb County – with a vision forward for what we need to do to serve our community as an engaged arts organization.
To achieve this, we need 350 members of our community to join us with monthly donations of $35 – allowing The Strand to grow our programs and performances as we head towards 2025.

EMPOWERING ARTS
With more than 150 dates of Strand-produced events each year, your monthly gift of $35 keeps the performing arts as a vibrant part of our community. Whether you’re seeing a duo like The Freeholders in our Lumiere Lounge, or the band Eight ‘O Eight on our 4th floor Terrace, monthly gifts enable us to hire local talent from our community each weekend for all to enjoy. Monthly giving also empowers hiring local talent for Strand-produced theatrical performances throughout the year – from shows like Rock of Ages and Jukebox Giants: Motown and More!, to Smoke on the Mountain and A Christmas Tradition, your support goes beyond the stage to keep The Strand resilient all year long.
EMPOWERING EDUCATION
2024 has seen amazing growth our education programs. From bringing back our Strand Academy youth productions with Shrek The Musical, Jr., to our Show on The Road Marietta City Schools partnership which brought over 500 5th graders to The Strand, we are deeply invested in providing arts education opportunities to families inour region. A monthly gift of $35 keeps our education programs at low to no cost for students, reducing barriers for all to get involved.
EMPOWERING COMMUNITY
As a cornerstone of the Marietta Square, The Strand is a gathering place for the citizens of Marietta and Cobb County. Monthly gifts of $35 help us keep offering events like our Sensory Friendly Disney Movies Series and Fireworks on the Fourth, allowing us to open our building to friends and family who re-live their memories and traditions together without barriers. Through our work with other local nonprofits, The Strand hosts dozens of events each year that support great causes in our community, and at a reduced cost thanks to supporters like you. Our engagement with partners like the Cobb Chamber and the Marietta Business Association also keeps us connected to the business community around us.
EMPOWERING PRESERVATION
Leaders from our community founded the nonprofit Friends of The Strand to revitalize the Strand Theatre landmark and its programming. They envisioned a dynamic arts center which would serve as both an engine of economic development and a cultural cornerstone. Through their dedication and hard work, they were able to generate widespread community support and secure the necessary funds to restore and reopen the building in December 2008. A monthly sustained gift of $35 empowers The Strand to continue to preserve this historic landmark for the enjoyment of our community for years to come.
EMPOWERING ENTERTAINMENT
Rock ‘N’ Roll acts like the Georgia Players Guild and Departure. Comedians like Lace Larrabee and Cash Cab’s Ben Bailey. Raucous nights like The Purple Madness and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Over 38,000 seats were filled at The Strand in 2023, bringing folks from 86 of Georgia’s 159 counties and beyond for amazing nights in our historic theatre. Giving $35 a month helps us invest in bringing bigger national touring artists and bands to the Marietta Square for all to enjoy, no matter how far folks travel to come and visit us.
SUSTAINING SUPPORT
One of the best and easiest ways to support The Strand is by setting up a recurring monthly donation. Whether you join as a 35FORWARD Founder with a $35 monthly gift, or choose a custom donation amount that works best for you, these sustaining donations provide security and stability, allowing us to plan our activities and programs around a reliable source of ongoing funding.
If only 3% of the Strand community committed to making a $35 monthly gift, our costs would be covered.
