Event Room Rentals
The historic Strand is a unique venue for films, live entertainment, and corporate or private events. Inside, there are beautiful event spaces and a one of a kind view on the only roof-top terrace on the Marietta Square. Rentals are available for a myriad of general events, including wedding receptions, holiday parties, corporate workshops, lectures, and classes.
Event rooms range from $300 – $1,800. Multi-space rental discounts are available.
Top Level Event Room
Once the back of a projection booth in the 1930s, the top floor at The Strand has been transformed into an elegant host for memorable events. The room also boasts coffered ceilings and aa teardrop chandelier. many of its details are direct replicas of the building’s original architectural decor, like four windows with decorative transoms with decorative etching that put the square in full view, even from the inside.
The top level space accommodates 64 guests for a fully seated & served banquet, and up to 10 for a cocktail party.
The Strand’s premier top level event space bares access to an open-air terrace, where guests enjoy the only rooftop view of the Marietta Square and Glover Park. A picturesque view of nearby Kennesaw Mountain adds to the overall ambiance of this outdoor space.
The terrace accommodates 48 guests for seated table service and up to 100 for a standing cocktail party.
Second Floor Event Room
Many of the classic photos of the square and The Strand were photographed by Mr. Horace Loudermilk, whose premier Loudermilk Studios was once housed on the second floor event room. Today, the lounge is known for its cozy atmosphere, both day and night, from its rich cherry wood floors and coffered ceilings to its three rescued and refurbished chandeliers from a historic Atlanta hotel.
The receives ample natural light through six oversized windows across the front of the building above the marquee- it never feels closed, as the opposite side of the room is also a full window wall. This inside glass separates the lounge from the main second floor corridor, which hosts the Doug and Della Stoner fine art gallery featuring local artists’ work.
The space accommodates up to 70 for a cocktail party; special arrangements are required for filly seated luncheons or dinners.
The Friends of The Strand holds the liquor license for the Earl Smith Strand Theatre. They the sole providers of alcoholic beverage service for all events with no exceptions. Please click to learn about The Strand’s beverage service plans.
In the absence of alcoholic beverage service, caterers invited to provide non-alcoholic beverage service.
The Strand has an amazing list of preferred vendors to carter events. Each provides unique choices in chuisine and service that fit perfectly with the ambience of The Strand. These professionals are familiar with the facility- which ensures seamless event execution. Please click to learn about The Strand’s preferred caterers, who are all licensed, insured, and delicious! Strand guests may not bring in their own food, however outside food suppliers with the appropriate licensure and insurance can cater at The Strand for an additional fee.
The Strand is conveniently located across from the Cobb County Parking Garage (between Cherokee and Waddell Streets at Dobbs Street). Parking is $5 before 5 PM Monday through Friday. Parking is free to the public weekdays after 5 PM and all day on weekends. Click to Download a PDF Map.
City parking in and around the Marietta Square is free for two hours Monday through Friday until 6 PM. For weekday workshops, meetings, and other events hosted at The Strand that last longer than two hours, it is recommended that attendees park in the Cobb County Parking Garage- or other paid lots around the square which are typically available for $3/day.
The Strand encourages event lessees to post a map of the square in invitations, promotional materials, and/or on the event website, if applicable.

Due to a high volume of sales calls and scheduled tours, event staff can respond to you more quickly by email. When phone communication is preferred, calls are returned as soon as possible.
Business office hours are Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM. Tours and in-person meetings are by appointment only.
